Who is Thomas Edwards?
Hi, I’m Thomas Edwards and welcome to my blog. I work in Solutions Consulting at a global software company, with a focus on Presales Enablement and Continuous Improvement.
My role takes me far and wide across Europe, selling accounting software to Large Enterprise companies. My background is in SAP Consulting and I am a Chartered Accountant.
Why Write a Blog?
Presales, Solutions Consulting, whatever you want to call it; is a profession of ongoing learning. There are continuous changes in the products we sell, as well as the way in which our clients buy. There are changes in the market, the challenges our clients face, and how we go about solving those challenges.
There will forever be areas where we can improve. I have learnt a huge amount over my career as a Solutions Consultant and I want to give back to the profession by sharing some of my experiences.
What is ‘The Modern SC‘?
‘The Modern SC‘ is a blog all about modern methods of Solutions Consulting. With this blog, I want to be able to share some of my experiences as a Solutions Consultant as well as some of the systems and processes I have implemented.
I am passionate about technology and new ways of doing things. A significant part of my role is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Solutions Consultants, often with the use of technology. Hence the ‘Modern’.
Who is this Blog For?
The aim of this blog is to be as accessible as possible.
Solutions Consulting isn’t a career that appears on graduate recruitment sites nor is it something taught at university. So how does someone get into it? Part of this site will be on the fundamentals of Solutions Consulting and what it entails.
On the other end of the spectrum, I will cover topics for Solutions Consulting Enablement and/or Management. This will include improving the efficiency and effectiveness of teams, strategies for growing a team, and modern methods by implementing new systems and processes.
